Nestled Car at Sky Ranch | Mark Lindsay

Sometimes the best images are not of grand adventures, but are found in quiet, fleeting moments of convergence. After last year's Grand Canyon hike I rested in Sedona for a few days, enjoying a comfortable room with a big, soft bed. I looked out the window and, discovered a scene that seemed worthy of recording.

Sometimes I have nothing to say about an image. It evokes a deep feeling that defies verbal analysis. It just makes me feel. In the case here, the image holds still the wonderful feeling of early evening. I've always been drawn that time of the day when things slow down and dusk is approaching. The world becomes sculptural in a kind of lazy way. Sounds seem to echo with more resonance. Light sings with a golden vibrato. Life simply feels better to me as dusk approaches. It takes on the essence of Grand Opera.
